Advertizing had its part in making the Big Mac special.

In a 1974 Ad campaign, Mc Donald’s advertized there Big Mac as “Two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles and onions on a sesame seed bun.” The company ran specials that offered people a free burger if you could recite the whole jingle at once. This helped popularize the Big Mac.

Another signature burger is Burger King’s Whopper.

Where did the whopper come from?

The Whopper was created by James McLamore, the Burger King founder in 1957. It originally sold for 37 cents.

They were looking for the kind of quality Wendy’s is famous for. As they explain it, “our food was already good. We wanted to make it better.

It is still a 4-ounce burger with cheese and some toppings. It has 810 calories and 48 grams of fat. This is one to steer clear if you are on a diet.

The hamburger has been a favorite of many people for a long time as you can see. Now it is made even more popular with the kind of advertizing that some companies do.

Mc Donald’s is famous for its big Macs and fries. It also sells breakfast items, drinks, and shakes. It has added salads, wraps, and smoothies.

How did Burger King start?

Burger King began as Insta- Burger King in Jacksonville, Florida in 1953. After running into financial trouble, the two Miami based franchisees bought out the company and renamed it Burger King.

The company changed hands four times. The latest owners are 3G Capital, a Brazilian company. They bought out the controlling interest in the company for 3.26 Billion.
By 2010, it had 12200 outlets in 73 countries.

Dave Thomas formed the company in 1969. He fashioned it after Kewpee Hamburgers, a store in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He likes the square burgers they served with malts and shakes.

Thomas named Wendy’s after his fourth child, Melinda Lou “Wendy” Thomas.

Wendys was a innovative company. They were the first ones to have a salad bar in the store in 1979. They were the first fast-food chain to create a single price point value meal in which all the items were priced at 99 cents.

The Company merged with the parent company of Arbys, Triarc. It was now the Wendy’s/Arby Group.

In 2007, Wendy’s began to offer a breakfast menu. This menu now has breakfast sandwiches on biscuits, breakfast burritos, side orders of hash browns, muffins, and cinnamon sticks.
